Baywaves

Hailing from the north of Spain and the idyllic coasts of Vanuatu, Baywaves were born as a duo and quickly created a new musical genre they named «hypnopop». The work wasn’t finished until their moving to Madrid, where they became a quartet. As a full band, Baywaves gained attention from international media with their first single «The Freak Kingdom», which was featured in blogs over USA, Australia, United Kingdom, France and Japan among others. The Spanish magazine Mondo Sonoro picked the song as the third best demo of the year, just after Hinds and Karen Koltrane. The band was also elected by Converse for their Make Noise contest and reached the final stage of FIB’s competition for new bands, while debuting their new audiovisual show.
After this strong breakout, Baywaves have recorded their debut EP “Only For Uz” (Foehn Records, 2016), an impressive collection of shimmering, fuzzy and reverb-drenched tunes that will enhance anyone’s post-summer depression.
