BeGun is considered one of the most prominent artists among the new Barcelona Wave generation as reflected by the positive reviews of his distinctive music identity in many international media such as VICE, NPR, XLR8R, Playground, LifeBoxSet, RBMA Radio, BBC1, DJ MAG and Radio3, amongst others. His first singles “San Francisco” and “Shanghai” were awarded as the National Electronic Track of 2013 and Best National Video of 2014 respectively by The Spanish Independent Label Association, besides obtaining an extraordinary favourable reception from the whole Ibero-American music scene.
Since his emergence at the beginning of 2013 beGun, aka Gunsal Moreno, has had a whirlwind
two years with international bookings all around the world, from US / Canada to India (Sonar
Festival, Boiler Room, Mutek Festival, SXSW, Piknic Electronik, 981 Fest @ Oval Space, Nitsa
Club, Ceremonia Festival, SOMA Fest, Plissken Fest, Niceto Club, Satta Buenos Aires, RBMA
BassCamp, Arenal Sound, TuSoni2 Chicago, DGTL Festival, Magnetic Fields, etc) plus several
releases to his credit (“San Francisco” EP, “Shanghai” EP, “Mumbai” EP, “Antarctica” Single,
“Madrid” Single, “Nairobi” Single) including a few collaborations by renowned artists like Com Truise, Giraffage, Ambassadeurs, Owsey and Doc Daneeka, amongst others.
Within the joint context of sound and image production and following the trajectory of his recent A/V releases, the upcoming natural phase of beGun’s project is to present his debut album linked to a medium-length film produced by his visual partner Borja Conde. This new LP contains 12 unreleased songs that correspond to 12 visual episodes of a movie in which both disciplines have been conceived and produced in unison. This will be performed as an A/V electronic liveset where the music will be played with analogue hardware while the film will be assembled on the fly, scene by scene, so that both disciplines interact by being simultaneously introduced.
